The families of 95 pugs joined a great day at the 6th Annual Elgin Pugnic. The day was spent with pug races, prizes for youngest, oldest come from the farthest (Michigan), brithday pug and others. Check out the bewst pug photo contest winner. It was a hard decision as there were many entries and they were all great photos.
The costume contest was a huge success with 20+ entries. Thei finalist were Yoda, Princess Laya and the Red Hat Lady. It was hard decision for the crowd but the Red Hat Lady was the winner. People and pugs also competed for gest pug ti-shirt. Many thanks to all those who gave of their time and great ideas that competed in the contests.
We were honored to have the Canadian Pug Rescue (Pugalug) this year. We thank them for nd and for all the great work that they are doing for the breed. Playful Paws brought great toys and item for those who love to shop.
There were terrific raffles this year and we thank those who donated; The Pet Ranch, Aylmer Veterinary Clinic, Joan Leishman, Playful Paws, Ain't Misbehavin and Ken Smith.
We remind everyone that this is a not-for-profit event. After expenses, we had funds remaining and a donation was made to the Canadian Pug Rescue. Thank you everyone!

No weather or storm threats stopped families from bringing their 65 pugs to celebrate Elgin Pugnic 2006. A day of pug races, games, contests, costumes and potluck was enjoyed by devoted pug owners at Dan Patterson Conservation Area.
A big thank you to all the participants who attended. We appreciated all the great work on costume ideas. We hope you enjoy your souvenir photo to remember the day.
Great weather, 66 pugs, their families and friends made for another successful Pug Pugnic. The event consisted of the ever famous pug races, great raffles and scavenger hunt. King Animal Clinic, London was there to share their information on Pug Care. Prizes and activities filled the afternoon and ended with a potluck, great memories and a souvenir photo to take home.

Pug owners from Elgin, Middlesex and surrounding counties shared their interest, stories and love of the pug. Attending this year was 70 pugs and their owners.
The day contained games for owners and their pugs, prizes, group photos, great weather and a potluck. Prizes were given for the pug that came from the farthest away, pug mom-to-be, birthday pug, oldest and youngest, mother pug with most children present. Pug races and dunking for weiners were popular activities.

The Pugnic of 2003 brought 75 pugs and their families to Dan Patterson Conservation Area with overcast weather that did not dampen the fun of the day. This fun included, dunking for hotdogs (the pugs that is) and a relay race. K-9 Concepts presented us with tips on discipline and training your pug. Prizes were awarded for youngest and oldest pug, curliest tail and the pug that had travelled the farthest for the event. We ended the day with a potluck supper and a photo memory to take home.
2003
The first Elgin Pugnic was attended by 53 pugs and their families. The first of hopefully more picnics.
Activities included a scavenger hunt to find all the pug owners. Their were prizes for youngest, oldest, and curliest tail. A few talents were shared by pugs and their owners in the trick ring. Everyone rec'd a group photo to take home with them. The afternoon ended with a great selection of food with a potluck supper. Registration fees were needed to run the event but it was never intended to be a profit making event. Just a chance for pugs and their owners to get together. The picnic was started by 2 families from St.Thomas. Seeing there were no local pug events in the St.Thomas-London area they decided to start one. The families have 3 pugs.
108 pugs and their families took over Dan Patterson Conservation for a day of fun on September 21 at the 2008 Elgin Pugnic. The Johnstone/Smith families celebrated their 7th pug picnic event this year. This year's event included pug races, funniest and most photogenic photo contest, guess the bones, best pug t-shirt for pug and their owner, best pug costume and youngest and oldest pug.
Numerous prizes were given out, all pug or dog oriented. Mid-event, everyone enjoyed a great potluck were everyone brought great food and treats. Guests this year were; Pugalug Dog Rescue and London St.John's Ambulance to speak about their Dog Therapy Program.
